Regarding this invitation, Ikhwanweb phoned Al Zahraa Khairat Al-Shater, daughter of engineer Khairat Al-Shater, the MB deputy chairman who is currently facing a military tribunal.
“The families of MB detainees transferred to the military court are many and are of different ages but what unites them is the same suffering and the same ordeal” she said.

Asked about the purpose of this party, Al Zahraa said:” The purpose of this social gathering for all these families is to show that they have become a single big family which is unified by common interests. We will also seize opportunity of this gathering to raise our cause again. We need to raise it from time to time to remind people and the society of the suffering of these families and children for the continuous detention of their caregivers.

However, she it refused to name this gathering a party. “There is no real party except when detained loved ones are released from Egyptian prisons” she said .

She added that raising the issue tomorrow will undoubtedly be accompanied by describing the suffering of the detainees and their families specially due to the seemingly endless number of military sessions during which media outlets and Human Rights Organizations are denied access. “These military sessions even include flagrant violations to traditions, local and international laws, making us feel oppression and injustice” said Al Zahraa.

“We try from time to time to raise the issue in a peaceful way. It is also an occasion for the families, specially children, to meet because these children have their share of the suffering. We want the children to meet an a place other than the prison”, she added.

She said also this gathering is suitable for the psychological state of the children after both periods of the feast and Ramadan which were full of difficulties and trouble because of the successive sessions without any consideration to the noble month.

Asked whether there is a program for tomorrow”s gathering, she said: There are some performances which will be carried out by children of “the Association of Detainees” Children” to entertain families especially after starting school classes and spending the feast days while caregivers are in prison.

In addition to raising this issue during the gathering, all media outlets will be invited to it to cover this occasion.
