Muslim Brotherhood Condemns Iraq’s Shrine Bombings

Muslim Brotherhood Condemns Iraq’s Shrine Bombings

Muslim Brotherhood condemned bombing of the two minarets of Al Askari mosque in Samarra, stating that Islam guarantees freedom of belief, secures freedom of worshipping and prohibits attacking houses of worship.

Dr. Mohamed Morsi, the member of the MB Executive Bureau, said in a statement to Ikhwanweb that Sunni and Shiite are both Muslims and such horrific attacks contradict with the true tenets of Islam.

For his part, Tarek Al Hashemi, the Iraqi vice-president and chairman of the Iraqi Islamic party (IIP), condemned bombing the imam Al-Askary shrine, and called the perpetrators “a “deviant group .

Al-Hashemi told Ikhwanweb that:” This deviant group of criminals is targeting again Al-Askary shrine, one year after targeting it for the first time in 2006, in Samarra in a desperate attempt to undermine the unity of the Iraqi people and to repeat the tragic violence that followed the 2006 bombings

Reiterating his condemnation to this terrorist action, Al-Hashemite added:” We urge our people to exercise self restraint, and urge media to do their job by making Iraqi citizens aware of the conspiracy to threaten our unity”

In the same context, Dr. Mostafa Salem, chairman of the Iraqi watchdog “MAMR” accused Iranian spy agency of standing behind the bombing “The incident reflects on the political crisis between Iran and the ruling coalition in Iraq” added Salem

Salem said:” MARM sent reports that show Iranian wide scale moves, and that Badr Organization was on alert 48 hours before the bombings to confront the so called danger against Shiite shrines without passing such information”.
Some observers raise they eyebrows wondering how the bombings were committed although the Al-Askary shrine is under heavily guarded by Iraqi security forces since April, and that no one is allowed to approach Al Imam Ali Al Hadi for any reason and there severe security measures that prevent any person from approaching whatever the reason.

It is worth mentioning that two bombings took place on Wednesday in the Al-Askary shrine in Samarra , destroying the two historical minarets.

The two bombings were carried out through planting explosive devices under both minarets in the same method adopting in bombing the golden dome of the mosque more than a year ago. These facts may point the finger of accusation against government forces and services in this new crime.
